Dr. Brian Hayes received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 1994, after graduating from Cornell College with a degree in biology. He began his career in mixed large and small animal practice at Victor Veterinary Associates in Victor, Iowa. In 1996 he moved to Cedar Rapids, where he worked at Cedar Rapids Animal Hospital and Blairs Ferry Pet Hospital. He established the Cat Clinic of Iowa City in July 2002.

Dr. Hayes is a member of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association and the Linn County Veterinary Association. He continues to add to his veterinary knowledge by attending annual seminars, conferences and continuing education courses.

He and his wife, Beth, have two children and two cats. They live in Iowa City.
